ART.FAIR | FAIR FOR MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART

This year for the ninth time, from October 29 to November 1, 2011 ART.FAIR is presenting promising new positions and selected current artworks from internationally established artists. Moreover, the broad spectrum of contemporary art is also being opened up to include selected works from the 20th century.

ART.FAIR thus encourages its audience to make new discoveries and to discuss the contemporary period in light of the modern.

Once again, the arena for Cologne's autumn art fair - after the successful premiere in 2010 - will be the historic-landmark halls of the "Staatenhaus am Rheinpark".

Eye-catching from a distance, striking close-up. The facade of this building gives it a strong presence, moving contemporary art forward in architecture. Making Epsom Station immediately recognisable.

The black lines reveal themselves as abstracted images of railway tracks, going criss-cross as we all travel from A to B. The frosted panels reflect the ever-changing skies, in stark contrast with the triangular coloured panels making it a playful but bold statement. The abstract and minimal design seduces you to look up and up again and invokes serious thoughts from totally contrasting historical spaces in Epsom.
